Cornwell House Community Workshops (Inc.), or CHCW, is a group of like minded groups that are working with State and local government in order to develop a new home for community based craft, trade and art groups at the Cornwell House site in Swanleigh.
The project is made possible with the kind assistance of Lotteries West, Swanleigh and the City of Swan.
Our five year business plan is available here.
We are committed to the restoration Cornwell House Heritage site. There is a lot of work to do to achieve our goals as set out in the floor plan below.

The upcoming workshop facility will be the states premiere community workshop facility. It is ideally positioned to service the greater regional area (directly located at the corner of the great northern Hwy and Reid Hwy) and is setback in natural bushland. We will provide unprecedented tools and “floor space” to people and groups looking to undertake artistic projects. The CHCW board will directly assist with any craft organisations needing our facilities
On the surface, the project will provide community groups with tools, equipment and storage. But more importantly it will create a hive of activity and shared effort, as many different community groups come together and share their skills.
